Job titles to search for
Gulf adverts use many names for the same work. Search for all of these:
What Gulf employers look for
- Reading isometric drawings and P&IDs.
- Fabrication and erection: cutting, bevelling, fit-up, alignment, supports.
- Plant, refinery or shutdown experience, with named clients.
- Safety awareness: permits to work, confined space, working at height.
Certificates and documents
- ITI fitter or equivalent trade certificate.
- Experience letters from past employers.
- Any safety training certificates (for example, basic HSE, working at height).
Recruiters often want your CV and certificates together. Keep clear scans or photos of every certificate on your phone, so you can send them the same day.
CV tips
- Start with drawing reading and plant type: "Pipe fitter (isometrics, refinery and shutdown work)".
- Name the clients and projects, with dates.
- Mention materials and sizes you have handled.
A good first line under your name: "Pipe Fitter | 8 years, isometric fabrication and erection, 3 GCC shutdowns". More in the Gulf CV format guide.
Apply safely
Apply only to adverts that name the agency or employer. A licensed agency may charge you at most ₹30,000 + GST, with a receipt, after you have a written offer. Check the agency's licence before you pay anything, and look for free recruitment adverts where the employer pays the fees.
