Job titles to search for
Gulf adverts use many names for the same work. Search for all of these:
What Gulf employers look for
- Building or industrial: wiring, DB and panel work, or motors, MCCs and plant equipment.
- Voltage levels you have worked with (LV, MV) and testing (megger, continuity).
- Reading electrical drawings and schematics.
- Gulf or plant experience, with named clients or projects.
Certificates and documents
- ITI electrician or electrical diploma.
- Electrical licence or permit from previous country of work, if you have one.
- Experience letters.
Recruiters often want your CV and certificates together. Keep clear scans or photos of every certificate on your phone, so you can send them the same day.
CV tips
- Say which kind of electrician you are in the first line.
- List equipment and voltage: "LV/MV panels, motors, MCC, cable termination".
- Name clients and projects with dates.
A good first line under your name: "Industrial Electrician | 7 years, LV/MV panels and motors, 3 years in Qatar". More in the Gulf CV format guide.
Apply safely
Apply only to adverts that name the agency or employer. A licensed agency may charge you at most ₹30,000 + GST, with a receipt, after you have a written offer. Check the agency's licence before you pay anything, and look for free recruitment adverts where the employer pays the fees.
Questions people ask
Do electricians need a skill test for Saudi Arabia?
Building electricians are among the trades covered by Saudi Arabia's Skill Verification Program (a written and practical test). Ask your agency whether your job title needs it.
Is ITI enough for an electrician job in the Gulf?
An ITI electrician certificate is the usual minimum. Industrial roles often prefer a diploma plus plant experience.
